Police are still searching for Birna Brjánsdóttir, a 20-year-old girl from Reykjavík, who has been missing since Saturday morning. Her parents had a two-hour meeting with police overnight, according to RÚV.

Her mother, Sigurlaug Hreinsdóttir, told RÚV that the police search had included the use of a drone. Houses near the area in Hafnarfjörður, where her cell phone sent its last signal, have also been searched by police. Search dogs from ICE-SAR have been used as well. Specially trained rescue workers from ICE-SAR have just been sent out to search for Birna in Reykjavík.

Security cameras recorded Birna walking east on Laugavegur on Saturday morning, after leaving the bar Húrra, where she had been with friends. The cameras show her disappear by house number 31 on Laugavegur at 5:25 am. At that time, a red passenger car, most likely a Kia Rio, is seen driving west on Laugavegur toward house number 31.

In an effort to collect information about Birna, The Reykjavík Metropolitan Police are asking the driver of that car to contact them as soon as possible by calling +354 444-1109. Anyone who was in the area around 5:25 am Saturday morning, and who might have noticed Birna, is asked to call the police at that number.

Birna was reported missing after her friend notified her family she had failed to show up for work on Saturday.
