The fourth Multicultural Congress of Reykjavík ‘Let’s Talk,’ will take place in Reykjavík City Hall on Saturday, March 25, 2017, 10 am to 3:30 pm. Approximately 17,000 immigrants live in Reykjavík from more than 120 countries. The aim of the congress is to open an intercultural dialogue about different issues in regards of living in a intercultural city. The Human Rights Office of Reykjavík prepares and manages the Multicultural Congress in collaboration with the Multicultural Council of Reykjavík.
The following topics will be discussed at the congress:
Jobs – accessibility to the job market and information for immigrants living in Reykjavík about rights and responsibilities of your employer and you as employee.
Housing – accessibility for immigrants to Reykjavík’s rental market.
Reykjavík’s Multicultural Day – Does Multicultural Day reflect well enough the diverse influence immigrants have in the community?
Consultancy for immigrants – Where to seek assistance and information?
Group work with discussions will be led by moderators in 11 languages: Icelandic, English, Polish, Lithuanian, Russian, Thai, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese.
