The Road to Nowhere (PS)

palli-dlOn the road, I was listening to the live broadcast from Alþingi, the parliament, as the vote of no confidence got underway.

The motion was rejected, the government held to power, 32-29.

I thought to myself, there is something really wrong here in Iceland. We have the world’s worst politicians.

And I was not the only one with these thoughts.

Everyone I met yesterday afternoon was saying the same thing.

Not for the first time, the parliamentarians WE elected proved that they were not up to the task of governing Iceland forward.

And there is little hope.

Up to ten parties could be on our ballot in the upcoming elections in late April.

The Progressive Party could become the biggest party.

.... so help me God.
