Icelandic Hi-Tech Company Posts Sky-High Profits

Icelandic orthopedics producer Össur posted profits of ISK 1.7 billion (USD 14 million, EUR 11 million) in Q2, which is seven times higher than its profits during the same period last year, ISK 240 million (USD 2 million, EUR 1.5 million).

CEO of Össur Jón Sigurdsson told visir.is, that the company performed well in all markets in Q2 and all of its main products demonstrated growth.

“New braces and complimentary products were well received in the first half of this year and that contributed towards increased sale,” Sigurdsson said.

“The sale of orthopedics has gone well and increased in all product categories. The sale of hi-tech products continues to be successful,” he added.
