The Weather Channel recently posted aerial photos of Iceland’s “volcanic rivers” on its website weather.com.
The images, taken by Moscow-based photographer Andre Ermolaev from the window of a Cessna aircraft, are described by the website as “bringing Iceland’s streams and ashen fields to life with vivid, swirling patterns that resemble abstract paintings.”
According to Ermolaev, the photos, which he says show an “inexpressible combination of colors, lines and patterns,” have been altered very little.
The photos were taken during the past three summers.
