Afturelding Double Champion in Women’s Volleyball

Afturelding from Mosfellsbær became Icelandic Champion in women’s volleyball yesterday by beating Þróttur from Neskaupstaður in their second game in the final, 3-1. Afturelding also won the Iceland Cup this year.

The club’s success is considered noteworthy given that this is the first time that its women’s volleyball team plays in the top division, Morgunblaðið reports.

However, Afturelding didn’t achieve treble victory as HK from Kópavogur became Division Champion.

In other women’s sports, Njarðvík became Icelandic Champion in basketball earlier this month after beating Haukar from Hafnarfjörður 3-1 in the top division’s final, mbl.is reports.
