The Icelandic Competition Authority and police searched the offices of shipping companies Samskip and Eimskip, as well as TVG-Zimsen, shortly before 10 am this morning. According to ruv.is, the search is one of the most extensive that the authority has carried out.
The search is part of an investigation of companies with alleged violations of the 10th and 11th article of competition law, which relate to collusion and abuse of a dominant position.
Samskip announced this morning that it would cooperate fully in the search. Eimskip informed the Iceland Stock Exchange of the search. Shares in the company fell by 5.6 percent this morning.
