Business between Iceland and Greenland has been growing with Icelandic companies showing increasing interest in the country.
Exports to Greenland in the past year totaled ISK 2.6 billion (USD 21 million, EUR 16 million).
Air Iceland runs daily trips to Greenland and transports daily consumer goods to the country.
Kristín Hjálmtýsdóttir, Director of the International Division of the Iceland Chamber of Commerce, stated there are significant opportunities in Greenland.
“There has certainly been some cooperation between companies in agriculture and fisheries, as well as tourism,” Kristín told Morgunblaðið, adding that Iceland will hold a trade fair in Nuuk, Greenland’s capital, this autumn.
