Katrín Sigurðardóttir, the artist who will represent Iceland at the next Venice Biennale, recently exhibited at Meessen De Clercq in Brussels. The exhibition, “Relics”, was her first solo show in Belgium, presenting two distinct bodies of work.

Numerous exhibitions by Icelandic artists are currently running worldwide, as reported in the Icelandic Art Center’s latest newsletter.

Guðjón Ketilsson recently opened a solo exhibition at the Luise Ross Gallery in New York. The works in the exhibition, entitled “Extensions of the Head”, span a period from 2000 until today. The exhibition is on view until May 5.

Guðrún Benónýsdóttir’s exhibition, “Doing Time”, is currently on display at the recently opened Pavillon in Lucca, Italy.

It is conceived as the prototype of a traveling exhibition from Lucca to Reykjavík starting with a catalogue, which is an integral part of the project. The exhibition runs through April 22.

Meanwhile, Ásdís Sif Gunnarsdóttir is conducting “You and Me Baby”, live streaming Sunday performances in April at the WEBC@M GALLERY 01.

Ásdís is known for her performances that take place in unconventional places and her video installations consisting of three dimensionality and visual psychedelic poetry.

Sigurður Árni Sigurðsson recently opened the exhibition “Jardins d’ombre” at Frac Corse in Corte, France, which will run until June 30.

“You don’t fool around with the geometry of the sun. Everybody knows that, and S.A. Sigurðsson more than anyone…” commented Christophe Domino about Sigurdsson and his work.

Currently, i8 Gallery is exhibiting works by several of its artists at Art Brussels, April 19-22: Ólafur Elíasson, Hreinn Friðfinnsson, Kristján Guðmundsson, Roni Horn, Ragnar Kjartansson, Ignacio Uriarte, Ívar Valgarðsson and Þór Vigfússon.

To conclude, the Icelandic Love Corporation is being featured in the Pace Digital Gallery’s “Great Outdoors!” video performance, featuring other artists such as Jacob Dahlgren (Stockholm), Terrance Houle (Calgary) and Shana Moulton (New York). The exhibition runs through May 8.
