Icelandic passports are the eighth best in the world when it comes to traveling hassle free, according to the latest Henley & Partners Visa Restrictions Index.
Finland, Sweden and the United Kingdom rank first with 173 points, followed by Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg and the United States, which come in second, also with 173 points. Iceland scored 165 points, visir.is reports.
Afghanistan is last on the list with 28 points.
With a total of 219 “destination countries or territories” the maximum attainable score is 218. One point is subtracted to account for a national traveling to their own country, with the exception of nationals who must hold a visa to reenter their home country, and for nationals of countries not considered as a destination, as stated in the report.
Henley & Partners describe themselves as “the global leader in residence and citizenship planning.”
