Watch an interview with novelist Jón Kalman Stefánsson 
President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson is scheduled to speak at this year’s World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The president will take part in a televised session entitled ‘The Economic Malaise and its Perils,’ designed in collaboration with Al Jazeera, which will discuss the risk of structural unemployment, declining human capital wealth and spreading political instability, on Friday at 9:15 CET.
The World Economic Forum is described on the body's website as an independent international organization “committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.”
Other speakers at this year’s event include UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron, and former U.S. presidential nominee John McCain.
The event attracts around 3,000 participants each year from all segments of society including business, government, civil society and the media.

The festival Reykjavík Music Mess kicks off at KEX Hostel in the center of the capital with an opening party on May 23 at 8 pm. An art exhibition themed around the participating bands will open at the occasion and Boogie Trouble will play a few songs. Entry is free.
