A total of 40,000 tourists visited Iceland last month, up from 12,000 in February 2012.
Tourists from the U.K. are by far the largest group, or 40 percent.

The largest increase of visitors from any country or geographical area, 56 percent, came from Central and Southern Europe, followed by the U.K., 52 percent, and North America, 38 percent.
In the first two months of 2013, a total of 73,000 tourists visited Iceland, a 35.5 percent increase from the same period in record-breaking 2012.
