KEX Hostel and Reykjavík barber shop Rakarastofan Herramenn, that have been active in raising funds for the male cancer awareness initiative Mottumars (“Moustache March”) throughout this month, invite men to conclude it with a shave tonight.

The shaving begins at KEX at 8 pm but first Páll Sævar Guðjónsson will present the Icelandic Cancer Society with the funds raised by the hostel and barber shop, Morgunblaðið reports.
Mottumars was held for the third time this year.
Awareness and funds were raised with pledges on the internet on behalf of the Cancer Society. Many men supported the initiative by sporting moustaches throughout this month and various individuals offered support by other means.
The goal was to raise ISK 35 million (USD 275,000, EUR 207,000); the internet pledges have raised approximately ISK 25 million towards that amount.

The festival Reykjavík Music Mess kicks off at KEX Hostel in the center of the capital with an opening party on May 23 at 8 pm. An art exhibition themed around the participating bands will open at the occasion and Boogie Trouble will play a few songs. Entry is free.
