Haukar from Hafnarfjörður defeated Fram from Reykjavík in the men´s handball cup final, 31:23. In the women´s final, Valur from Reykjavík are the champions after beating ÍBV from the Westman Islands, 27:18.

Rock icon Bubbi is finishing a new folk music record out this spring called Þorpið (“The Village”).

On Wednesday, the five-day Food and Fun Festival will start in Reykjavík for the 11th time.

The nominations for the Icelandic Music Award  in the category of Classical Singer of the Year are Finnur Bjarnason, Garðar Thor Cortes, Kristinn Sigmundsson and Tómas Tómasson.

The nominations for the Icelandic Music Award for the Jazz and Blues Record of the Year, are ADHD2 by ADHD, HAK by Stórsveit Reykjavíkur, Land & Sky by C. Legardh and Sigurður Flosason, Long Pair Bond by Sunna Gunnlaugs, Strengur by Tómas R. Einarsson, and Squiggle by Frelsissveit Nýja Íslands.

The dance company Steinunn and Brian are now touring in Montana, USA, with the new dance piece entitled How to Be Original.

Jóhannes Karl Guðjónsson played the last 25 minutes when his football team, Huddersfield Town, defeated Exeter in England, 2:0.
