The Nordic Outbreak traveling exhibition of moving image artworks by contemporary Nordic artists opens at Hafnarhús, the Reykjavík Art Museum, at 5 pm today.
The exhibition, which was initially launched in New York in March, “explores contemporary dynamics in Nordic moving image and new modes of exhibition in the digital age,” as described in a press release.
Tonight’s program includes a lecture by Jonatan Habib Engqvist entitled ‘A History of Nordic Moving Images and Things’ from 6-8 pm and the screening of various works from 5 pm to midnight.
Tomorrow, a panel discussion, ‘Video Art: Then & Now,’ will be held from 11 am to 1 pm, along with other events.
The exhibition runs until Sunday.
