A large exhibition on patchwork runs at Reykjavík landmark building Perlan this weekend, March 15-17. Handicraft made by designers from across the country will be on display, some of which are for sale.
The exhibition is in three parts: Coastal Culture (Strandmenning), Red, White and Blue (Rautt, hvítt og blátt) and Circle of Friends (Vinahringir). The last is an EQA (European Quilt Association) exhibition, which as traveled Europe since 2011.
The exhibition is organized by the Icelandic Patchwork and Quilting Association.
This weekend is big on fashion and design in Iceland, DesignMarch and Reykjavík Fashion Festival are currently running as well.

Today is the Second Day of Whitsun, or Pentecost, a Christian holiday and bank holiday in Iceland. Although Whitsun is a religious holiday, many people skip mass and use the opportunity to engage in outdoor activities with their friends and families.
