ICE-SAR search and rescue workers in Borgarnes, Kópavogur and Grundarfjörður were called out last night and this morning to help secure roof slates and other items after strong winds and stormy conditions across parts of Iceland.

Travelers are warned of poor driving conditions on the road from Reykjavík to Selfoss including snowdrifts and ice, as well as on Mosfellsheiði, the road to Þingvellir, mbl.is reports.
Conditions in other parts of the country are also slippery with snowdrifts in some areas.
The forecast for Reykjavík is for 7ºC (44.6ºF) today and rain over the coming days. Conditions are expected to be mostly dry in Akureyri and the West Fjords, but less stable in the East with rain, sun and snow over the next few days.
The Icelandic Met Office sent out a weather warning for strong gusts near mountains in the southern and western part of the country until late morning today.
