He was arrested along with his accomplice in Switzerland in early March and a custody sentence over him was requested in Iceland on Friday, ruv.is reports.

Three men stole watches worth approximately ISK 50 million (USD 395,000, EUR 299,000) in the armed robbery of Michelsen last year.

They all escaped the country but their accomplice—who was supposed to smuggle the loot to foreign markets—was caught in Iceland and sentenced to five years in prison.

The three escapees left for Poland, two of whom were later arrested in Switzerland. One was extradited to Iceland in mid-March where he was placed in custody and one of his partners has now joined him.

The fourth suspect still resides in Poland and Icelandic authorities will request that his trial takes place there.
