Two Icelanders were yesterday charged in Australia for attempting to smuggle three kilos of what is suspected to be cocaine through Melbourne airport.
The pair were arrested on Tuesday by Australian Federal Police.
According to theage.com.au, an Icelandic teacher acted as an impromptu interpreter during the court hearing as the only two known Icelandic interpreters in Melbourne were unavailable.
An analysis of the drugs is expected within six weeks.
The men have not yet made an application for bail and will appear in court again in November.
