The temperature at Siglunes near Siglufjörður in North Iceland was 16°C (61°F) at 6 am today, two hours before sunrise, same as on the mountain pass Vatnsskarð between Blönduós and Varmahlíð in Skagafjörður in the northwest.

Yesterday it was unseasonably warm in the eastern part of the country with the temperature exceeding 20°C (69°F) in Reyðarfjörður yesterday afternoon, mbl.is reports.
The coldest recorded temperature early this morning was at Sandbúðir in the central highlands, 2°C (26°F). The automatic weather station there is at an altitude of 900 m (3,000 feet) above sea level.
