Hells Angels to Sue Iceland for Unfounded Arrest

Norwegian lawyer Morten Furuholmen is preparing a lawsuit against Icelandic authorities for what he calls an unfounded arrest of Leif Ivar Kristiansen, the leader of the Hells Angels motorcycle club in Norway, at Keflavík International Airport yesterday.

Furuholmen, who arrived to the country with Kristiansen, told Stöd 2 that he was shocked when his client was arrested, explaining that Kristiansen has never violated any laws in Iceland although he has a criminal record in Norway, visir.is reports.

Furuholmen said Kristiansen has often come to Iceland before, the last time in December. He finds it strange that he was arrested when he was traveling with his lawyer.

The purpose with their trip was to prepare a lawsuit against Icelandic authorities for the treatment of another Hells Angels member, who was arrested upon arrival to Iceland last weekend. They had planned to review the case with an Icelandic lawyer.

Kristiansen was deported this morning.
