Morgunbladid reports that computer game development company CCP is preparing to launch a version of its online multi-player game Eve Online in China.
The entire game has been translated into Chinese and CCP is working to secure the required permits from the Chinese authorities to launch the game in China.
The CEO of CCP, Hilmar V. Pétursson, said to Morgunbladid that the game revolved around inter-personal communication and cooperation, company management, the organization of production lines and many other things that have a parallel in the real world.
According to Hilmar, it is possible that the game will be used for instruction in Chinese schools.
Closed pre-launch "beta-testing" is now underway with 80 thousand users participating. It is expected that up to 800 thousand users could participate in the open beta-testing when it commences.
The game is hosted in China.
