Icelandic suspense thriller Cold Trail (2006) by Björn B. Björnsson has been selected to compete for the grand prize award at the Nordic Film Festival (Festival du Cinéma Nordique) in Rouen, France, in March.
The director and the main actors have been invited to Rouen to attend the festival, DV reports.
Cold Trail will be screened four times during the festival with French subtitles.
The film was the third most popular Icelandic movie last year drawing 14,676 people to the cinema, after The Quiet Storm (2007) and Astrópía (2007), a.k.a. Dorks & Damsels.
The film features journalist Baldur (Thröstur Leó Gunnarsson) who applies for a job in a power plant in the Icelandic highlands to investigate the death of his biological father.
At the Film Festival in Rouen special emphasis is put on the Nordic film industry, though entries from the Netherlands and the Balkan countries have participated in recent years.
