Music festival in Borgarfjördur Eystri

The tiny community of Borgarfjördur eystri is one of Iceland’s most popular music venues during the summer. The IsNord music festival will be held there next weekend and Damien Rice will be one of the artists who perform at the Brædslan 2008 festival to be held in the community in July.

The IsNord is a Nordic music festival which features Icelandic and Nordic music. The music selection varies from classic to folk and rock. More information can be found here.

The <Brædslan> festival is steadily becoming one of the most popular music events in the summer and this year’s big performer is Damien Rice. Previous performers at Brædslan have included Belle&Sebastian, Emiliana Torrini and Lay Low. The festival is called Brædslan, or the Smelter, because the music venue is an old herring smelter tank.

More information and tickets can be found here.
