Artist Katrín Sigurðardóttir will be Iceland’s representative at the 2013 Venice Biennale, mbl.is reports.
Her resume includes two sculpture installation exhibitions at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art in the fall of 2010.
She is the first Icelander to have had a private exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum, one of the world’s largest and most esteemed art museums.
Katrín has worked as an artist for years, both in Iceland and in New York.
Recently, Katrín received a two year grant from the Artists’ Fund.
