Last year, Iceland Express announced the discontinuation of the Akureyri-Copenhagen route in the summer of 2012, after six years of regular service between the two cities. However, due to pressure from local communities, Iceland Express has renewed its plan to continue regular flights albeit with some changes.

According to PR officer Heimir Már Pétursson, flights will only be available from July to mid-August, but in previous years the season has been longer. “The flights have been very popular in recent years, so we bowed to pressure from the local community.”
