With the mountains still covered in snow, the capital area ski resort Bláfjöll will remain open for longer than planned. The resort is expected to be open this weekend.

Operations manager at the resort, Einar Bjarnason, said there is no reason to prevent the resort from being open longer this year. “The snow is similar to that in the middle of winter,” he told visir.is.
The resort is usually open until May 1.
