Now we will be publishing some of the many the entries our readers sent in about why they love Iceland. We start with this account of a viking Wedding and continue tomorrow:
My now husband and I have been to Iceland twice and this December we will be going for a third time.
The first time we went to Iceland was in July 2011, we were there for 4 weeks. We stayed at the House of Spirits in Reykjavik and we loved it
We did a lot of excursions, from caving at Cave Bury, to whale watching, to glacier hiking and many others.
We loved it so much that we decided to go back the following December. We actually got married in Iceland on December 21st of 2012. Our ceremony was at the Viking Village, we got married by the head of the Asatru Society in a true Viking wedding, and it was awesome, Gunnar the owner of the House of Spirits helped us with the preparations, and suggested an awesome photographer to take our photos with us dressed in traditional Viking attires. After our wedding we did a couple of excursions, the most memorable was the one at Landmannalaugar, we were there for three days and it was amazing

This year we are going back again in December and as always we will be staying at the House of Spirits, Gunnar is now one of our dearest friends, and we have planned a couple of days stay at a horse farm, a day of mushing and 3 days at Midgard, so again lots of adventure.
My husband and I love Iceland for many reasons, but one of the top reasons is her people, they are very friendly and we find that we feel at home in Iceland. Gunnar of the House of Spirits is amazing and we love him and of course the nature of Iceland is like nowhere else.
We will be going back again and again
Thank you for letting us into your beautiful country
