At 3.9 percent the unemployment rate in Iceland is the lowest since November 2008 and dropped 0.4 percent between May and June 2013.

In related news, Landsbanki reports that sales with domestic credit and debit cards decreased by 2.3 percent, indicating a drop in the rate of consumption. Meanwhile, sales with foreign credit and debit cards increased by 12.4 percent.
