A man in his early sixties, a tourist from Taiwan, died in a ski-doo accident on Langjökull glacier at noon yesterday. The accident was reported by the police at 12:23 pm and the man was pronounced dead by a physician who arrived with the Coast Guard’s helicopter one hour later.
The man is reported to have lost control of the ski-doo he was driving. His wife, who was sitting behind him, suffered injuries but they are not considered to be severe, as stated on mbl.is.
The police in Selfoss are investigating the accident. For that purpose, the ski-doo was taken to the police’s vehicle investigation center.
