U.S. production company Millennium Films have hired Icelandic director Óskar Þór Axelsson, the director of popular Icelandic thriller Black’s Game (Svartur á leik), to direct the thriller Point of Violence.

“The pic uses a sliding doors concept to tell the story of a hit man given the order to kill a woman who turns out to be a former lover. In one version, he carries out the hit, and in the other, he refuses and is forced to protect his old flame,” Deadline writes of the movie’s plot.
Filming will start in early 2014 with Dobre Films responsible for the production.
According to Deadline, Óskar is also set to direct thriller The Key Man for QED and Open Road Films—a film Brian De Palma had earlier been rumored to direct—and horror movie Garden District for Dimension Films, owned by the Weinstein brothers, ruv.is reports.
