Iceland is now in second place in Group E, after Switzerland, who has already qualified for Brazil next year. Slovenia is in third place, just one point behind Iceland, after winning against Norway 3-0 at home.

The final games for the teams will be held on Tuesday with Iceland playing Norway in Oslo and Slovenia coming up against Switzerland in an away game.

The eight best runners-up are drawn in two-legged play-offs that will determine the other four qualifying nations. To secure a spot in the play-offs, Iceland must beat Norway.

As it stands now, the second placed teams in each group are (in ranking order) Portugal, Croatia, Greece, Ukraine, France, Sweden, Turkey and Iceland.

The top four teams on the World Ranking FIFA list will play against the lower ranked nations.
