The comedian turned Mayor of Reykjavík, Jón Gnarr, announced in an interview with RÚV a short time ago that he will not run in the municipal elections next spring.

Mayor Jón Gnarr dressed in Iceland’s traditional costume for women at Gay Pride in August. The latest poll indicates that the Best Party is the largest party in the capital with around 37 percent support, a higher support rating than the 35 percent the party gained at the last election.
