WikiLeaks Spokesperson Responds to NYT Editorial

Spokesperson for WikiLeaks, Icelander Kristinn Hrafnsson, was interviewed on CNN about an opinion piece by The New York Times editorial board which argues that Edward Snowden, who is currently residing in Russia, should be given amnesty in the United States.

Kristinn said he was happy that The New York Times editorial board had agreed that it is justifiable for whistleblowers to break the law when it serves higher ideals but stressed that the editorial did not go far enough in calling for the pardon of Chelsea Manning and Jeremy Hammond and the end of the investigation into WikiLeaks.

Kristinn categorically denied suggestions by senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin, who also appeared on the show, that sensitive information may have fallen into the hands of the Russians and Chinese.
