According to photographs and other research data, one of Iceland's smallest yet most famous glaciers, Ok, is about to forever disappear. These are the findings of glaciologist Oddur Sigurðsson, mbl.is reports.

As of now, Ok does no longer qualify as a glacier. In the year 1890, it was 16 square kilometers in size but has since continued to subside.
In the summer of 2012, the glacier was merely 0.7 square kilometers in size.
