Dozens Protest Oil Search in Iceland’s Dragon Zone

Around 70 people gathered outside the Culture House in Reykjavík on Wednesday to protest the search for oil in the so-called Dragon Zone in Icelandic waters. The protest coincided with the signing of the third exploration and production of hydrocarbons license, visir.is reports.

Árni Finsson, head of the Iceland Nature Conservation Association, said that it was essential for humankind to reduce emissions and that although there was money to be made, the losses would outweigh the gains. Árni added that they would continue to protest despite the signing.
