The theater play Der Klang der Offenbarung des Göttlichen/The Explosive Sonics of Divinity by Icelander Ragnar Kjartansson will premiere at the Volksbühne in Berlin tonight.
The play is without text, without actors, but the music is composed by Kjartan Sveinsson and is performed by a 40-piece orchestra and 16-person strong choir. The director is Davíð Þór Jónsson.
The play is inspired by Halldór Laxness' novel Heimsljós, (World Light in English), and Weltlicht in German.
Der Klang der Offenbarung des Göttlichen will be presented in Reykjavík as part of the Reykjavík Art Festival in May.
