The foreign tourists who spent the night sleeping in a tent in -23°C (-9.5°F) at Lake Mývatn, Northeast Iceland, last night looked cheerful and lively as they were packing up their tens this morning, according to local Kolbrún Ívarsdóttir.

Local carpenter Einar Jónsson was so surprised to see that people were camping that he took this image on way to his work, 641.is reports

A 65-year-old cold weather record was broken at Lake Mývatn on Wednesday when the temperature dropped to -28.2°C (-18.8°F).
