South African Goalkeeper Moves North

South African Banyana Banyana (women’s national team in football) goalkeeper Roxanne Brown has signed a contract with Þór/KA from Akureyri, North Iceland, to play with the team next season. Twenty-three-year-old Brown played with the Portland Thorns in Oregon, the U.S., this winter. She also played for South Africa at the London Olympics in 2012, mbl.is reports. 

Banyana Banyana finished took home the silver in the last African Women’s Championship in Equatorial Guinea and will be looking to impress the new coach ahead of the AWC qualifiers against Comoros scheduled for the end of May.
