More than one million tourists are expected to visit Iceland in 2015, according to the latest projections by the Icelandic Tourist Industry Association.

The number of visitors is expected to increase by 15 to 18 percent in 2014 compared to 2013, or a total of 900,000, down from 20 percent between 2012 and 2013. The year-on-year increase between 2014 and 2015 is expected to be 12 to 15 percent, ruv.is reports.

Foreign exchange earnings are expected to reach ISK 300 billion (USD 2.6 billion, EUR 1.9 billion) this year.
