A temporary strike at Keflavik International Airport has come to a close. The airport staff’s strike began at 4 a.m. last night and ended at 9 a.m. this morning.

During these five hours, all the union chairs were present in addition to strike guards, vísir.is reports.

The arrival of seven aircrafts departing from the United States and Canada was postponed by three hours. Furthermore, the arrival of three Wow Air flights, arriving from Europe, was delayed until 9 a.m.

The Keflavik Airport was unusually busy around 9 a.m. when check in, security check and other services at the airport resumed.

The next negotiation meeting will take place next Thursday. Actions such as this temporary strike have not been scheduled until April 23 and 25. If a conclusion will not have been reached, a comprehensive, strike will begin on April 30th.
