Hellisheiði mountain pass on the way from Reykjavík to South Iceland is icy due to snowfall last night. Other mountain roads in the southwest as well as roads in the southeast of the country are also icy.
The reopening of Hrafnseyrarheiði and Dynjandisheiði mountain passes in the southern part of the West Fjords, which have been closed since December, will now be delayed until after the weekend. The snow there is the deepest it has been in over two decades, visir.is reports.
All traffic in the highlands, where the earth is starting to defrost, is prohibited.
