Stormy Weather and Cold Spells Ahead

It is likely that cold spells will continue in West Iceland over the next couple of days, Elín Jónasdóttir at the Iceland Met Office told rúv.is. Anyone intending to travel around Iceland should depart today or early tomorrow morning.

On Friday, weather conditions won’t allow any outdoor activity; it will be windy and even stormy all across the country. The bad weather will subside Friday night but the southwesterly wind will continue on Saturday. Southwest Iceland, West Iceland and the West Fjords will see intermittent snowstorms. North of Hrútafjörður fjord and East Iceland will see a minor, if any, precipitation.
