Champagne sales are approaching 2007 levels in Iceland, according to a report by Arion Bank.

The sale of sparkling wine decreased by 70 percent from 2007-2010 but sales during the first four months of this year indicate that consumption is on the rise. Sales are up 17 percent compared to the first four months of last year and have not been higher since 2007.

According to Arion Bank, the increase in champagne sales is an indicator of economic recovery in Iceland.
