Considerably more people in Reykjavík have voted early in Saturday’s municipal elections than at the last elections in 2010.

As of last night, 4,146 people had cast their ballots in advance polling in Reykjavík, compared to 2,836 at the same time four years ago, visir.is reports.

Voting is also going well outside of Iceland’s capital area and abroad with 6,850 people having already cast their votes.

Overall, 9,497 people have voted early in this year’s municipal election.
