The Circus of Iceland has revealed its new big top tent.
The new 12-meter tall tent belongs to Sirkus Íslands, the Circus of Iceland, and was raised in Klambratún park in Reykjavík this week.
The tent has been named Jökla and has room for about 400 audience members. It was brought to Iceland this spring and its purchase was financed with an online collection.
The tent will house circus shows for all ages, beginning this coming Wednesday. Around the middle of July, the tent will be taken down and will accompany the circus on its tour around Iceland, RÚV reports.
Sirkus Íslands is Iceland’s only professional circus and has been in existence since 2007; growing in popularity and stature with each passing year.
