Around 100,000 people, as estimated by the police—which equals 30 percent of the Icelandic nation—attended this year’s Pride Parade, the highlight of the Reykjavík Pride festivities in the capital, on Saturday.

The LGBTQI festival was held for the 16th time this year. The festival has grown from having only 1,500 people in attendance to being one of the most important festivals in Iceland, and not only for the LGBTQI community.

After the event, Strætó, the Reykjavík bus company, apologized for having had to drive past people waiting at bus stops. They had miscalculated how many people would use public transport.
