The Icelandic national team in women’s football won against Israel 3:0 at Laugardalsvöllur stadium in Reykjavík in a qualification game for the 2015 Women’s World Cup on Saturday.

Dagný Brynjarsdóttir and Fanndís Friðriksdóttir each scored one goal in the first half-time and Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir shot the final goal in the second half of the match. With 16 points, Iceland is now in third place for the last round where it will meet the Serbian team on Wednesday, ruv.is reports.

However, it is already clear that Iceland will not take part in the World Cup as Switzerland has established itself as the group’s winner with 25 point, followed by Denmark with 18 points.
