Iceland Met has issued the following warning:
A strong gale (more than 20 m/s) is expected widely Monday and heavy rain in the southeast.
Weather outlook: Variable wind, 3 to 10 m/s. Widely partly cloudy and isolated rainshowers. Becoming southeast 18 to 25 m/s and considerable or heavy rain Sunday night, first in the southwest, but south 8 to 15 and mostly dry in the north. Becoming south 10 to 18 m/s and rainshowers Monday evening, first in the west. Temperature 3 to 10 degrees, C., mildest in the souternmost part Sunday.
Weather forecast for the next several days: On Tuesday: South and southeast 15 to 23 m/s, strongest wind in Vesturland. Rain, considerable in the southeast but somewhat slighter wind and less precipitation in the northeast. Temperature 5 to 10 deg. C. On Wednesday: Southwest and south 15 to 23 m/s and showers or rain but 10 to 15 and mostly dry in the north and east. Temperature 5 to 9 deg. C. On Thursday: South gale and later easterly wind and considerable precipitation, mainly in the southeast. Mild weather. On Friday: It looks like north gale with sleet or snow in the north but fair in the south. Becoming colder. On Saturday and Sunday: It looks like easterly wind, wet but becoming warmer.
