Biannual visual art festival Sequences will be held for the seventh time in Iceland April 10-19, 2015. Alfredo Cramerotti has been announced as the curator of Sequences VII, taking over from Markús Þór Andrésson. Preparations are said to be going well.
Cramerotti is an author and experienced curator, who has been involved in diverse visual arts projects, including curating the 2010 contemporary art biennale Manifesta 8 in Spain.
Around 25 Icelandic and international artists will participate in Sequences VII, which will take place in exhibition halls and public spaces across Reykjavík. As in previous festivals, a special off-venue program will run alongside the main program.
Sequences is the only festival in Iceland specializing in visual art. It aims to create a platform for progressive art creation with special emphasis on performances, audio and visual art and on reaching the attention of the general public, as well as the art community.
